What I reach for...Nail Care

Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sorry this is late I meant it to be up yesterday either in the morning or when I got home from work and I did neither since time practically flew by!

Today I have nail care to talk to you guys about! It has taken me a very long time to get  my nails to stop breaking and splitting and even grow a decent length. Well at least my left hand listens to me. Since I'm right handed my the nails are widdled down to not stumps but when they start to grow out something comes along and says nope your right hand cannot have long nails except for my ring finger and pinkie.

Why so blue?

Hey everyone!

So today I have a 'trying to get me in the Holiday Mood' manicure. The other night I was looking at Sally's Beauty Supply website and Head2toe Beauty as well, to see if either of them had the China Glaze Holiday Collections, I knew that Head2toe would but I was unsure of Sally's.

Both website have them so I am hoping to come across them on my Sally's trip on Wednesday when I have to get my Dad from the train station. I could not stop looking at three out of the 12 polishes I believe there are. I want Twinkle Lights, Snow Globe and Blue Years Eve!

Snowmen Polish

Hello everyone!

It seems that I have been posting a lot lately, my mind keeps racing, thinking of things to post on here. I am enjoying posting the odd non nail polish related post on here, I feel it breaks it up. So I'm gonna keep doing that every once in a while.

I have another manicure to show you today and kind of a swatch of a new snowmen polish I purchased from Rite Aid only a couple of hours ago. I have been having a crummy couple of weeks and I felt today was the day to treat myself to something nice.

Oh how I love my local drug store

hello!

Manicure time!!

So reading all the different blogs out there that talk about the newest drug store finds ,makes me so excited, especially when I see something that sparks my interest. Well according to Nouveau Cheap a brand of nail polish I never heard of had came out at Rite Aid. Its Called Hedy. The display Rite Aid had out was for holographic polishes. Now we know some of us love them and some of us hate them. I myself love them and still regret not getting into the polish craze sooner to get the China Glaze ones.

Anywhoo, I stopped by my local Rite Aid to check out whats new, not only to look for the Hedy polishes but maybe some striper polishes too. I've been practicing my nail art lately :) . So upon looking at the all the lovely displays that I already new about I saw the Hedy polishes. This line is called the Ma. nish. ma. line. They have four different colors to look at. The first I saw was a white/clear polish with the pretty rainbow flecks, next was a hot pink color, then a silver, and then the one that I picked up.

Blaster.  Its a blue-toned purple color that it looks like it could very well deliver, so I picked it up. Got home and immediately tried it on my pinkie nail. Every time I buy a new polish I seem to use my pinkie nail as a guide as to whether I can wear the polish by itself or does it need to go on top of a different color to get the full effect.

Here is a bottle shot...

You can see the blueish tone, sad to say
my camera wouldn't get the beautiful shimmer.
Applying this polish just to your nails, is okay if you like it sheer or having to apply probably quite a few coats for opaqueness. On a bare nail, there is no indication of a holographicness to this polish. Its just very shimmery and very duo chrome. Now I like a good duo-chrome, but I thought it would look better with a dark base color.

Pink is for Breast Cancer!

So the month of October is not only my mom's birthday month (Happy Birthday!) but it is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. Now I don't personally know anyone within my family who has fought Breast Cancer, I do have friends and their family members who have.

Back on Saturday my job that I work for organized a bake sale called "A Day of Hope". People from work baked different things to sell. I myself made cookies, sugar cookies and chocolate chip. They came out amazing I may say, although after making almost 40 packages of cookies

Facets of Fucshia

Okay I know what you all are thinking. I just posted and extremely long picture heavy post and now I'm posting some more!

Well this is of my current mani, which is Facets of Fuchsia, from Revlon! I have been waiting for this polish forever! I couldn't get to my local Target to see if they had it in the regular line, so I had to wait and get it when and if it came to my local Rite aid or Walgreen's. Although I won't shop at my local Walgreen's anymore since the girl at the beauty counter was rude to me!
