Joe Fresh: Sour Citron.

Happy Thursday lovelies!! Only one more day until the weekend!!

Today I have another amazing Joe Fresh polish to share with you. I am all about bright colors, my sunglasses case is a bright neon pink holographic, my purse is bright mint green, and I always look for the bright colors when I buy nail polish.

Back when I first started this blog I thought that I would never wear the bright neon color because well back then frankly I didn't like them. *GASP* I know how stupid of me right? As time went on I grew to love the bright colors and now can't wait to rock them when I get them.

Sour Citron is the name of this polish and I tell you right now this polish reminds me of the bright sour gum balls you get from those 25 cent machines at the grocery store. Sour Citron is a bright almost neon but not quite chartreuse yellow green.

I used three coats of polish to get it even and opaque. It doesn't dry matte so its not a real neon, but it sure is bright. The formula is about the same as on the previous Joe Fresh polish I reviewed. Its pretty awesome!

I think that Sour Citron would be a great base for some stamping particularly with a black polish, especially the flip flip stamp from Bundle Monster.

I did take one photo with a flash to see if that changed the look of the polish and well here is the result.

The flash from the camera makes it look more like a dirty green apple. I say that because I have an Orly polish that is a green apple color and I wore it to work one day and a customer thought I was sick.

All in all I like this polish a lot and plan on doing a stamping manicure with in the future, maybe to usher in the warm weather when it decides to make an appearance around here. Seriously mother nature has no idea what season it is, one minute is 9 degrees outside and then on Saturday its supposed to by 45??

Anyway thats it for today! Talk to you on Friday!

Joe Fresh: Mojito Mix!

Good afternoon lovelies!!

Today's post is going to be yet another polish that I received from my amazing friend Lindsay of Polish and Diamonds!

Have any of you ever heard of the brand Joe Fresh? It is a brand that is pretty much only sold in Canada. At the time or writing this post I googled 'Joe Fresh Nail Polish' and didn't come with anything but reviews for it on Make up Alley. I then headed to Amazon and EBay and found a couple of them there but that was about it. So I am very grateful for Lindsay for sending me the three that she did. The other two will be featured on here soon!

The polish is called Mojito Mix, it is a mint green polish with a creme finish. I would say that its a dupe for Essie's Mint Candy Apple, which is one of my favorite shades! However I like the Joe Fresh formula better. The Essie version is a bit thin and a little hard to control on the nail where as the Joe Fresh formula is thicker and much easier to control.

There was only one problem with this polish and it made me sad. But I don't blame anyone for it because you don't know it happened until you go to use the polish.

Yup I got a wonky brush. Its not like the bristles on the brush got bent or something, the stem of the brush is actually cracked up the side and that's why the bristles stick out.

However this did not deter me from enjoying and using this polish. Here's the results.

I used two coats for opacity. The only time I had to do a lot of clean up was if the wonky bristles hit the sides of my nails or my cuticles. I love the bottles on the Joe Fresh polishes there so little and fit right in the palm of my hand. I think if I had to travel with polish I would choose  Joe Fresh because of its size!

I don't necessarily get the 'Mojito Mix' vibe from this polish but I do understand why they named it that, a mojito is made with liquor and crushed mint leaves. Nonetheless I love me a minty green polish and this one is just as awesome!

I'll see you guys on Wednesday!!

My first butter London! Meet Bluey!

So back over the summer I did a polish swap with Lindsay of Polish and Diamonds. She was kind enough to send me some lovely polishes from Canada that are not available to me here in the states.

One of those polishes was my very first and only butter London! I never thought in a million years that I would get my hand on one of them. The only place I can get them is if I order them online. Which thinking about it, when I get my tax refund this year I may just splurge on  a few more.

One thing about butter London that I love are the bottles, I love that you just pop the square top off and there is a regular cap inside so you don't have to fumble with a bulky square cap. I also love the names of the polishes, the one that Lindsay got me is called Bluey. It is very fitting since the polish is a teal/blue glass fleck shimmer.

I did about three coats of this polish and under the light I took my photos in I could still see my visible nail line. But in real life you couldn't see it. The formula is thin but controllable, and if your handy with a clean up brush for your edges then you should have no problem with cuticle flooding.

I absolutely love this polish and cannot wait to get my hands on more.

Until next time!
