Back in Business!!!

Hi guys!!!

Sooo.... the semester is officially OVER!!!! WOO HOO! You have no idea how relieved I am. Technically I do have to go into school on Monday for one last class and to return a rental book but I don't have anymore test or anything like until the spring semester in January!

Since Christmas is about 11 days away I thought I would share my current winter/Christmas/Holiday manicure with you!

I feel like this year is coming to an end so fast, but I'm kind of glad it is. I have had a roller coaster of a year, with loss and family health problems. I've also been suffering really bad lately from depression, and anxiety. Its not fun but one thing that has kept me going over the last three months or so has been staying in touch with the nail community and how many of you amazing people out there are so supportive and encouraging!  I can't say thank you enough for that!

Today's manicure started off with one of my absolute favorite Christmas reds, China Glaze Cranberry Splash. I talked about this red a lot last year from what I can remember . Its shiny and shimmery, and every time I use it or see it, it makes me think Christmas!

I also have to give a shout out to OPI Nail Envy Matte for being my base coat to protect my nails, I got a twin pack of the original formula and the matte formula back in February. I finished the bottle of original formula and now working my way with the matte. It definitely keeps my nail polish on longer and I haven't seen any yellowing in my nails, compared to other base coats I have used.

To make this manicure more holdiay-ish I broke out my stamping plates. Originally I saw Nicole from Polish Me Please, post a snowflake manicure on her Instagram. I got inspired that day and did something similar and posted a photo on my Instagram. I used the same stamps from Bundle Monster for this manicure, and I think it makes my nails look like wrapping paper.

I used my mini star tree topper to pose my hand on. I have a mini tree in my bedroom this year and it just makes it so much cozy-ier. I will say this once I was done taking photos with it my hand was full of glitter, but there is nothing wrong with that.

For the snowflake stamp I used Fresh Paint's Coconut. I got it from Five Below, but I don't think they have it anymore. Five below goes through series of different polishes every so often and Coconut was released over the summer.

And to make my manicure shiny and protected I used Seche Vite. I was using Sally Hansen Insta Dry Top Coat but my nails chipped quickly after using it, which is a problem I have never really had with it so I decided to go back to Seche Vite one day after seeing they sold it in Wal-Mart. Seche Vite was the first quick drying top coat I ever used and I loved it, but then it started shrinking my manicures so I stopped. It seems though that this bottle isn't doing that so I guess I must be doing something right.

For the photos I did take them inside since it is snowing outside right now and the hours of daylight are limited. A couple of the photos did come out dark so I had to adjust the light on a couple of them.

Simple V-day French manicure design!

As Valentines Day nears I am starting to hate it more and more. I have never been a huge fan of the holiday. Being diabetic, there is not much choice when it comes to a box of chocolates. Walk though Walmart the other day not a single box of sugar free chocolates, so I'm left craving chocolate but come home empty handed. :(

So to get me out of my mood, painting my nails always helps! I have had this idea in my head for sometime now, at least the last week. It turned out nice but I would like my nails to be a tad bit longer when I decide to fully wear a french manicure. Last night I broke a nail and I am now back to semi-nubs. I had to file them down quite a bit. :( but now they are all the same shape and size so I guess that's the upside!

I recently got a Serena Glam Slam Duo from TJMaxx for...wait for it... $6.00!! We have these wear I work ( well the most recent ones anyway) and they run $14.99. This was one of the first ones that Serena Williams released I believe and it came with Love is a Racket, which is a bright red shimmer that is just stunning in the bottle, and Pros and Bronze and goldish bronze color with tons of shimmer, I swear I saw lime green shimmer and that just made love it even more!

Love is a Racket is a little to bright for my finger tips after using it in this manicure, but I plan on using it for stamping and for my toes for the summer! It is however one of the perfect Valentines Day reds out there!

Nails Of The Day! Aquadelic and Whimiscal Man!

I feel like when I say the title to this post that it should be with that hippie vibe! Oh and while holding up a peace sign!

Happy Superbowl Sunday! If you live in the states of course! Today I finally broke out my Revlon Whimsical! I didn't have any blue polish to pair it over, and definitely did not like the look of it by itself, its a milky polish that is just too sheer, you could see major nail line :( It would probably take like 8 coats to become opaque!

So I took China Glaze Aquadelic as my base color. I can't rave how much I love this color and the name! Its like a robins egg blue creme that just stands out on its own, and 2 coats makes it perfect,  pairing it with Whimsical was a good choice!

A little Party Hearty of Five Glitters

Hey all I just wanted to do a quick nail of the day! I know this mani was done everywhere when Party Hearty came out last year. But to me it never gets old to do for the holidays!

So to kick off the holidays ( for me at least) I used Seche Vite base coat, two coats of Sally Hansen White On, and then one coat of Party Hearty and then to give more color I used two coats of Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters! Oh and Sally Hansen Insta Dry Top Coat to seal it in!

Holiday designs will be up soon I'm trying to think of a few more to do.

What I reach for...Nail Care

Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sorry this is late I meant it to be up yesterday either in the morning or when I got home from work and I did neither since time practically flew by!

Today I have nail care to talk to you guys about! It has taken me a very long time to get  my nails to stop breaking and splitting and even grow a decent length. Well at least my left hand listens to me. Since I'm right handed my the nails are widdled down to not stumps but when they start to grow out something comes along and says nope your right hand cannot have long nails except for my ring finger and pinkie.

Today I have a nails of the day to show you. Lorelei's Tiara. Every time I think of the name for this polish my mind goes to Gilmore Girls for some odd reason. This as I said in my initial overview of the Eye Candy polish is my favorite and so far it still is.

Hello everyone! Sorry this post is up later than expected. I was busy with work, doctor appointments, and every time I wanted to post I would realize I would have to do something else first.

Back on Thursday I received my package from Head2Toe Beauty. I ordered these nail polish back on Monday, and they got shipped out Tuesday and arrived Thursday so about a day and a half of shipping total, but four days for the order to be done. I am so pleased with how it all went down,

So back on Wednesday I went to my local Sally's to see if they had any of the China Glaze Let It Snow collection in. It also happened to be the day I had to pick up my dad from the train station so it worked out well.

Okay so I got to get two of the 12 polishes from the collection.

My First Franken!!

Hello!

For today I have my first franken polish! Its nothing special really and I didn't create a bottle of it, but I will if I can get my hands on second bottles of each color I used!

So I have been kind of obsessed with Blue Years Eve from China Glaze. If you haven't see my Why So Blue?   then click the link. So I thought maybe, just maybe I could come up with a way to re-create it. Unfortunately, I don't believe I re-created it but I did come close, its just a different shade. I took Celeb City from Sally Hansen Extreme Wear and Midnight Blue from Sinful Colors and mixed the two on a piece of paper.

So I hope that this comes out okay I'm trying a new blogger app from my iPad.

Okay, today's post is Halloween appropriate. I think I'm going to take a stab at the blood splatter mani I attempted earlier this month over the weekend when I go to enjoy some Halloween festivities!

Life has been awfully rough the last week and thank god I have this blog and nail polish to help my sanity.

Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice what can I say about it. It is one of the hard to find fall polishes this year. I was very glad to get my hands on one at my local Rite Aid when the display hit because by now there is nothing left of it! I didn't know how many people in upstate NY loved nail polish.

This polish is a black jelly base packed with orange glitter. Since this polish is sheer on it's own it's better to use a black or very dark base if you want the orangey goodness to shine!

Starting with my Seche Vite base coat I used one coat Sinful colors Black on Black and two coats of Pumpkin Spice, then finished off with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Two coats really packed on the glitter or so I thought, so I added another 2 coats to it and now its packed with glitter and I just love it! Definitely makes me that more excited for Halloween (even if it does fall on a monday this year).
